Your Rice is Dirty! Rinse it.

Are you rinsing your grains of rice before you cook?

The reason for rinsing rice is to clean the dirt, dust, particles, and the starchy residue off each grain. Removing the starch also prevents the rice from getting a sticky texture when cooking.

An easy method of rinsing:

1. Measure your dry rice into a pot, and fill the pot partially with water.

2. Use your fingers to swirl the grains around in the pot, cleaning off the residue.

3. Dump the water (leaving grains in the pot), and refill with clean water. Repeat until water runs clear (about 3-4 times).

4. Use the same pot to cook your rice!
